FICOSA and COMSA EMTE signed today an agreement with SONY to integrate in their companies the industrial and R&D capabilities, as well as the assets that until Sony has in Viladecavalls (Barcelona, Spain). The operation will be effective as of January 1st, 2011.
As a result of the transaction, two companies will be created, based in the current site of Viladecavalls. One of the companies will be devoted to manufacturing and will be 100% owned by FICOSA. The other will be focused on engineering, research and product development, and will be a joint venture between FICOSA (50%) and COMSA EMTE (50%).
