Innovation in the field of optical sensors and laser developments arrives to Ficosa by the hand of the European Commission founded project VIZTA
VIZTA (Vision, Identification, with Z-sensing Technologies and key Applications) project main objective is to develop innovative technologies for optical sensors and laser sources, for short to long-range 3D-imaging, and demonstrate their value in several key applications
Within the H2020 ECSEL JU framework, FICOSA AAA, as part of a highly technological consortium, is developing driver monitoring systems based on the combination of physiological variables such as facial gestures and breathing, but this time using 3D camera sensors developed by a partner of the project.
The technical challenge is to generate software capable of analyzing 3D models of driver variables, as well as the identity of the driver.
With a duration of 3.5 years and a financing of 21M EUR, the final demo of the systems will be integrated into the vehicle by the end of 2022.
